Over the past two months, we have been collecting, reflecting, and evaluating to bring you, our readers, the best selection of quality breeches we have initially found on the market. Companies such as Romfh, Aztec, and Smartpak ended up on this fabulous list! We have ranked and graded 8 brands to help you get a clear idea of what you get when you buy. The color coding is self explanatory: green is for high marks, orange is for middle rate marks, and red is for low marks. We will start with our least favorites and move on from there. Please note: Lily is 5’6″ and a true 26 breech. Kait is 5’3″ and a slightly curvy 24 putting her between sizes at times.
Piper’s by Smartpak – Kait
- Retail Price: $79
- Fit: 6; These are not the most fit forgiving breeches on the market but, they do have some stretch–the seams are not flattering.
- Fabric/Style: 6; extremely insulating and tough. Euro seats were made to give a rider curve and length, not a busy bum.
- Washing Maintenance: machine wash, cold hang dry

FITS– Lily
- Retail Price: $230
- Fit: 8; Overall very comfortable, and the full seat patches end in just the right places. However, they are quite high waisted. They are very form flattering.
- Fabric: 10; the material of these breeches are unparalleled. The material the the perfect thickness and very durable. The material creates a very flattering and streamline look.
- Washing Maintenance: mashing wash cold, hang dry
Overall: 9 worth the investment
FOAL– Kait
- Retail Price: $140
- Fit: 8; I found the leg fit nice but, the waist a bit loose.
- Fabrics/Style: 9; loved the stretch, warmth, and silicone grips–perfect for dressage.
- Washing Maitence: machine wash cold, hang dry

Forever Oak– Kait
- Retail Price: £75, $91
- Fit: 8; the seat fit was fabulous but, the legs were a bit loose.
- Fabrics/Style: 9; I enjoyed the give and logo placements, plus the seams are very flattering. Not a wow factor breech but, a great daily wear.

Pipers By Smartpak– Lily
- Retail Price: $79
- Fit: 10; These breeches are a phenomenal fit. They run very true to size, and even come with a log.
- Fabric: 8; The material of these breeches is a but tough, but not unbearable. They wash well and definitely hold up well to everyday, hardcore use at the barn.Thick waistband, back pockets, and all seams are very flattering.

Tailored Sportsman– Kait
- Retail Price: $190
- Fit: 10; Perfect fit with incredible give.
Fabrics/Style: 10; Super classy, clean cut, and simple. Little details make this breech worthwhile. The comfort between the wide waistband and the extreme fabulous stretch makes them a great buy. Only flaw: Velcro ankles - Washing Maitence: machine wash cold, dry on extra low/low
Overall: 10, worth the investment
BVertigo Breeches -Lily’s Number One
- Retail Price: $179
- Fit: 10, BVertigo breeches have an impeccable fit.
- Fabric/Style: 10, medium weight, and very durable. Absolutely no pilling or rips after wearing them consistently for 3 years. Tick waistband, sock bottom, discreet pockets, elegant stitching–gorgeous branding.

Aztec Diamond– Kait’s Tied Number One

- Fit: 10, fabulous and very forgiving fit
- Fabric/Style: 10, unbelievable stretch and comfort. A moisture wicking lining keeps you cool and working hard. The style is fabulous with little accents that are edgy, yet subtle. Surely a well branded statement breech.

- Fabric/Style: 10, a perfect everyday breech that moves with you. Light weight, super stretchy, almost like a second skin. Well placed and subtle branding.

Can you compare the fit of the Romfh breeches to Aztec Diamond? I wear a 26 in the Sarafinas and I’m super confused by the AD sizing guide.
