Company Week: Got Romfh?

NEWS FLASH: ROMFH is everywhere! Well, I guess that isn’t a surprise if you are reading this, right? For the past year, I have been sporting ROMFH and all the equine brand has to offer. And boy, am I happy about that! Not only is ROMFH a standard here on Tailored Mane but, its making waves across the board and across the world. From struggle to the epitome of success, Laura and I talk breeches and so much more. Washington native, Laura Romfh, was practically born in the saddle. From age two on, her exploration of the equine world developed her into a well-rounded rider and an admirer of riding fashion. From trails to eventing to dressage to show jumping, Laura came to intimately know all disciplines of riding, whether competitive or pleasure. Later, she attended Parsons School of Design which eventually led her to begin her journey with ROMFH at the ripe age of swenty-six. Laura, and I quote “starved” for the first three years after giving birth to the fledging company. But, her …

Company Week: Socks That Talk

There is no hiding it. But, then again why would you want to? Dreamers and Schemers is the talk of the equine scene! Seems as though you can’t find a single rider without a pair of these fantastical and slightly magical socks. Expression and creativity in an otherwise uniform sport, its now been done! I went in depth with owner, Kristy Lake, to see how D&S managed to captivate buyers with such a unique equine concept. After owning Dapple Gray, a small equine Boutique in Ontario, Canada, Kristy quickly realized that she had a slightly unhealthy obsession with adding fun socks into her shop’s stock. Once she started attending shows with her set up, her non-horsey, outside sourced foot wear became best sellers. Without much serious competition, slowly but surely, she began to create her own fabulous designs. Thus, giving birth to Dreamers and Schemers. In April of 2016, D&S hit the scene running and hasn’t slowed since. Custom, wholesale, and designs of sheer creative genius have kept the brilliant company on the rise. But, that is of …

Company Week: Be RIATA. Be YOU!

You may have noticed over the past few looks that I have been featuring a beautiful custom hat that was made in collaboration with RIATA Designs. These sun hats are becoming more and more popular on the equine scene, with only one woman running the show, Jill Slater. This segment is about the seamless process of making your own RIATA and the business you support by purchasing one! After getting in contact with Jill through her contact form and setting up her review, we quickly began a fierce dialogue of creative ebb and flow! Known for her flower arrangements and garden designs, the frequent HGTV guest star has made a name for herself through helping others express themselves in creative outlets. Her hat designs are no different. Jill takes the time to get to know her clients, as a horse lover and human, in order to craft the most perfect headwear. The more insight given to Jill, the easier her creative mind gets going. After chatting with her for a bit, she digs through the …

Special Editorial: Falling Into Transitions

Feeling the ferocity of fall early this year? Not to worry! Transitions are easy with the right tools, making fummer the next best season for fashion. Alas, the hints of summer fading have begun. Thankfully, the sweet autumn air is ready to sweep you up and take you away on rides far away! Dress for the crisp, misty mornings and mild to sweltering afternoons with versatility and functionality. Making the transition into fall doesn’t have to be a tough step forward. During this awkward “fummer” time, make sure you are suiting up with creative looks. Start off with layers, as they are always the most ideal transitional pieces to a summer into fall wardrobe. For last year’s fall/winter collection, Cavalleria Toscana fashioned this handy, stylish all-purpose jacket that has easily become the staple in my wardrobe for the last year.
